Rev. Michael Habib – Dean of the Pacific Northwest
Reverend Father Michael Habib – Pastor Michael Habib began his service to the Church at the tender age of 2 ½ as an Altar Server at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Los Angeles, California. In late August of 2001, he was called on by Sayidna Joseph, to begin traveling with him and assisting him in his ministry.
December 7, 2003, Sayidna Joseph, elevated Michael to the Subdeaconate at St. Nicholas Cathedral.In June of 2006, Subdeacon Michael graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. Prior to his graduation, Sayidna Joseph directed him to enroll in seminary for the Fall of 2006. He did so and graduated from St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary with Distinction in May of 2009. The title of his Master’s Thesis was “The Bishop as the Living Icon of Jesus Christ in the Ecclesiology of St. Ignatius of Antioch.”
In August of 2011, while visiting the Post Falls/Spokane area for some leisure time, he was introduced to Maria (Masha) Spine, a parishioner of Christ the Savior Church in Spokane Valley, Washington. They were engaged in November of 2011, and married at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Los Angeles on April 29, 2012 by Sayidna Joseph. Sayidna Joseph sent them to Eagle River, Alaska to spend their first year in married life and to prepare for future ordination.On December 25, 2012, during Sayidna Joseph’s routine visit to Alaska for Christmas, he ordained Subdeacon Michael to the Holy Diaconate. On July 14, 2013, having returned to his home parish where he was born, baptized, and married, Sayidna Joseph ordained Deacon Michael to the Holy Priesthood in preparation for his assignment to Twin Falls. He arrived in Twin Falls on October 22, 2013 to assume the pastorate of St. Ignatius of Antioch Church.
February 7, 2018, Father Michael was appointed as the Dean of the Pacific Northwest Deanery by His Eminence, Metropolitan JOSEPH.
