Spring of 1997 orthodox families in the Treasure Valley started a mission through having Daily Vespers in homes of the parish’s founding families under the direction of Fr. Philip Nixon. Father Philip, Kh. Theodora and their family moved to Tucson Arizona in 2001 being assigned to Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church where he retired.
1999 the community purchased the church at 800 N. 25th Street Boise Idaho
Very Reverend Patrick O’Grady was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in 2000 and assigned to Holy Transfiguration. In 2006, Father Patrick was assigned full time of our sister church St Ignatius Orthodox Church. He is currently the proto priest of St Peter Orthodox Church in Laverne, Californa.
June 6th 2000, Metropolitan Philip gave Holy Transfiguration a blessing to begin having the Liturgy in our church building. The name Holy Transfiguration was given to the parish.
Very Reverend Mark Fenn was ordained in 2006 to the Holy Priesthood and became the Protos Priest.
In 2016, the community moved to 221 E. Carlton Ave, Meridian Idaho. December 13, 2018 Father Mark was elevated to Archpriest, Matthew Romero was ordained to the Deaconate, Steven Dorvin the Subdeaconate, and Sergius Smith tonsured a reader.
